We are excited to announce the Beaverton Hoop YMCA is preparing for the return of competitive teams and league. The official “go” has not been announced by Oregon Health Officials & Governor but with the news of High School basketball gearing up – we have started to prep for Youth Boys Basketball as well. Please read full email about what we know, what we don’t know, and how we are preparing. *All Tryout Participants must be registered and paid in full by Thursday 4/22 at 5 PM. No Walk-Ins. Tryout spots are limited and will fill quickly.

KNOWN
- Tryouts | Friday, April 23
*Skill Tryouts | Due to state guidelines, no ‘live play’ will be held at this tryout. Spectating will not be allowed at tryouts.
- Practices | Start Date is TBD – Estimated 5 Weeks of Practice
*Grade 3 & 4 | M/F 4:30-6:00 PM
*Grade 5 & 6 | M/F 6:00-7:30 PM
*Grade 7 & 8 | M/F 7:30-9:00 PM
- # of Teams | BHY will carry 12 teams total; Boys Grade 3 – 8
- Games | Teams will play in Hoop League located at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA. 4 Weeks; 8 Games. Start Date is TBD – estimated Mid/Late May (subject to change)
- Jerseys | All players must purchase a jersey – we have a new color and design.

- Spectating | We plan on welcoming spectators back to The Hoop. Specific information will be communicated when plan is in place.
- Travel Teams | We plan to run travel teams in the future but are do not have an exact timeline of when this will be reintroduced
- Staff | Coaching assignments has not been finalized
- Girls Teams | At this time we don’t have the coaching bandwidth to offer Girls teams but we hope to be able to offer them in the future

FAQ
1. Can I request a coach or teammate? No, we do not accept friend or coach requests. Placement is based on tryout evaluation
2. What if my child is not placed? Players not placed will receive a refund (cash, card, or credit) minus a $50 tryout fee.
3. What if I need to withdraw? We do not offer card or cash refunds (exception players not placed on a team).
5 or More Days Before Tryouts: Receive a full credit to your account
4 or less days until Tryouts: Receive a credit to your account minute a $40 processing fee
Tryout Day or after: Receive a credit to your account minus a $40 processing fee + $50 tryout fee (additional cost per day after program beings).
4. Where are practices & games located? All practices and Hoop League games are located at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA (9685 SW Harvest Court, Beaverton)
5. When is the game schedule released? We do not know when official games will begin but when they do game schedules are released weekly by Wednesday 7:00 PM. Parents, coaches, and players should be get in the habit of double checking their times Friday night. Schedules are subject to change.
6. What is the cost of the program? Members $425. Non-Members $500. Plus $60 uniform fee. To receive Member rate, you must have active membership for the length of the program.
